Jan. 6: Christmas tree drop-off recycling event in B/CS
 
Don't throw away your Christmas tree - recycle it!
 
The cities of Bryan and College Station will collect trees on Saturday,
Jan. 6, at two locations convenient for drop-off: 
 
Sue Haswell Memorial Park
1142 East William Joel Bryan Parkway, Bryan
 
Central Park
1000 Krenek Tap Road, College Station
 
Recycle your tree on Jan. 6 and receive a free Willow Oak seedling. Be
sure to remove ornaments, nails, tinsel and tree stands before dropping
off your tree. No flocked trees, please!
 
Can't make the Jan. 6 recycling event?
Bring your tree to one of the following locations:
 
Bryan Compost Facility
2988 Pleasant Hill Road (off Sandy Point Road)
Monday-Saturday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
 
BVSWMA landfill
7600 Rock Prairie Road, College Station
Monday-Friday, 7 a.m.-5 p.m.; Saturday, 7 a.m.-1 p.m.
 
In addition, both cities will pick up trees during normal yard waste
collection days for homes, duplexes and fourplexes. 
 
Why we do it
Christmas trees are recycled each year to ease the burden on the local
landfill. Bryan converts the trees into rich compost, while College
Station utilizes woodchips to cushion picnic areas at Central Park.
