Bryan, College Station Chosen For National Presentation

Representatives from the Cities of College Station and Bryan were
notified this week of their selection as presenters in the Transforming
Local Government (TLG) Conference, scheduled June 2007 in Bellevue,
Washington.

"A Community of Respect was chosen as a case example of an applied
innovation study - defined by TLG as a program which provides
unprecedented ideas, concepts and procedures that achieve powerful
results from intuitive, value-driven ideas," said Tawana Collins,
Innovation Groups Director of Educational Operations.

Developed in 2005 as a cooperative initiative among the cities, Texas
A&M University, Blinn College and the B/CS Chamber of Commerce,
Community of Respect provides local public servants, faculty and members
of the business community with interaction skills and cross-cultural
understanding to develop and sustain a welcoming and safe environment
for international students, scholars, faculty, international community
members and visitors.
