Downtown construction halts for the holidays
 
Call it an early holiday present. Between Thanksgiving and Jan. 8, 2007,
Bryan Avenue rehabilitation will cease in order to allow easier traffic
flow, parking and enjoyment of Downtown Bryan. Yes, that means the
two-way traffic you used to love.
 
For the past four months, Phase Two of the Downtown Master Plan has been
steadily transforming the pavement and infrastructure of Bryan Avenue.
But work crews have already patched the roadway, parking spaces and
sidewalks to make the holidays in Downtown a more pleasant experience.
 
Work will continue, however, on 24th Street between Bryan and Parker
avenues. Bryan Avenue construction will resume Jan. 8.
