City of Bryan receives distinguished finance award
 
The City of Bryan has received the Government Finance Officers
Association's Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for its budget
<http://www.bryantx.gov/fetch.html?name=2007_Budget_Document.pdf>  in
the fiscal year of 2007.
 
This award represents a significant achievement and reflects the
commitment of the City of Bryan's financial department to meet the
highest principles of governmental budgeting.
 
In order to receive the budget award, Bryan had to satisfy these
nationally recognized guidelines:
*     A policy document
*     A financial plan
*     An operations guide
*     A communications device
 
Budget documents must be rated "proficient" in all four categories to
receive the award.
 
About the GFOA
GFOA is a nonprofit professional association serving 16,800 government
finance professionals throughout North America. The GFOA's Distinguished
Budget Presentation Awards Program is the only national awards program
in governmental budgeting.
