Texas, in an amount not to exceed $75,000 for site fencing repairs on an

Ltd., of College Station, Texas, in an amount not to exceed $52,750 for
cement stabilizer sand used to stabilize utility cuts for water, sewer
and storm drainage pipe across driveways, streets and other structural

for mowing and lot clearing services (section 1) with Green Teams, Inc.,

e.   Consideration - Lease of Office Space for Community Development

      Consider approving a one-year lease of office space for the
Community Development Services Department between the City of Bryan and
Syed Hyder at a monthly rate of $3,579 for approximately 3,000 square
feet with all utilities paid.  The total annual cost to lease the office
space for a one-year period is $42,948, which represents no increase in
the rental rate.  Source of Funds:  Community Development Block Grant
Funds.

 

f.    Consideration - Contract for Surveying Services

      Consider approval of a contract with Pledger Kalkomey, Inc., in an
amount not to exceed $40,000, for topographic and survey work to be
performed for the pending Health Science Center land conveyance to
accurately and legally describe the land. Source of Funds:  Bryan
Commerce and Development, Inc., Fund (General Fund Transfer).

 

g.   Consideration - Interlocal Agreement for the Joint Purchase of
Consulting Services

      Consider authorizing the Mayor to enter into an interlocal
agreement with the City of College Station, Brazos County and Texas A&M
University for the joint purchase of consulting services for the purpose
of making application for a Public Safety Interoperable Communications
Grant.  The costs of the consulting services are to be shared equally by
the participating parties in an amount not to exceed $15,000 per entity.
Source of Funds:  General Fund.

 

h.   Consideration - Correction Quitclaim Deed

      Consider authorizing the Mayor to sign a correction quitclaim deed
to reflect that only 80 feet of the 30th Street right-of-way is to be

      Consider approving an annual price agreement for the purchase of
law enforcement uniforms with Lone Star Uniforms, Inc., of Houston,

k.   Resolution - Ordering Special Municipal Election to Fill Vacancy

      Adoption of a resolution of the City Council of the City of Bryan,
Texas, authorizing a Special Municipal Election to be held on May 12,
2007, for the purpose of electing one City Councilmember from Single
Member District Number Four for an unexpired term by the qualified
voters of Single Member District Number Four; specifying the number of
votes required for election; authorizing a joint election with the City
of Bryan General Municipal election and the Bryan Independent School
District election to be held on May 12, 2007; authorizing the City
Secretary to arrange an equitable basis for sharing the costs of joint
election; designating election precincts; appointing election officials;
establishing pay rates for election workers; providing for notice of
said election; providing for the use of voting machines; and providing
for early voting.

 

l.    Resolution - Support Funding for the Texas Recreation and Park
Account Local Grant Program and Texas State Park Funding

Texas, requesting that the Governor and members of the 80th Legislative

Residential Neighborhood Conservation District on all 21 lots in
Briarcrest West #1 Subdivision in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas.

 

n.   Second and Final Reading of an Ordinance - Creation of Reinvestment

      Second and final reading of an ordinance of the City of Bryan,
Texas, designating a tract of land consisting of 282 acres along the
east side of State Highway 6 bypass and Briarcrest Drive within the
corporate limits of the City of Bryan, Texas, as a Tax Increment
Financing District to be known as Reinvestment Zone Number Twenty Two,
City of Bryan, Texas, establishing a Board of Directors for such
Reinvestment Zone and ordaining other matters relating thereto.

 

13.    STATUTORY AGENDA

      This agenda consists of items previously approved by Council
action, such as adoption of items that are part of an approved budget or
capital improvement projects, first readings of ordinances, or action
which is required by law or delegated to the City Manager.  Items may be

a.   Consideration - Engineering and Surveying Contract for the Still
Creek Sewer Trunk Line, Phase II Project

b.   Consideration - Contract with Texas First Group and Confirmation of
Police Chief Appointment

c.   Consideration - Construction Contract for the Replacement of
Cooling Towers

         Resolution - Authorizing Publication of Notice of Intention to
Issue Certificates of Obligation

         Adoption of a resolution of the City Council of the City of
Bryan, Texas, approving and authorizing publication of Notice of
Intention to Issue Certificates of Obligation in a principal amount not
to exceed $12,000,000, for the purpose of paying contractual obligations
to be incurred for (i) construction, improvement and equipment of a
Justice Center to be located within the area bordered by 29th Street,
Texas Avenue, 31st Street and Tabor Street, including police and court
facilities, parking, sidewalks, landscaping, irrigation and lighting
systems, and other site improvements associated therewith; (ii)
construction and improvement of streets, traffic signals, lighting,
drainage facilities, sidewalks, landscaping, water, sewer and electric
utility system improvements and other site improvements associated
therewith; (iii) construction, equipment and improvement of fire
fighting facilities, including the acquisition of a fire engine; and
(iv) professional services rendered in connection with the acquisition,
construction and financing of the foregoing projects.
