go into a closed to the public session under the provisions of Section
551, Texas Government Code, and the following topics may be discussed: 

 

*         under the authority of Section 551.072, deliberation about
real property - discussion regarding the lease of real property in
northwest Bryan for water production purposes;

*         under the authority of Section 551.087, deliberation regarding
economic development negotiations - discussion of offer of financial or
other incentives for development of a retail/commercial complex in east
Bryan and discussion of offer of financial or other incentives for
developments in west and north Bryan; and

*         under the authority of Section 551.074, personnel, and Section
551.071, consultation with attorney - discussion and receive legal

c.   Consideration - Extension with Texas Commercial Waste for Roll-Off
and Recycling Services

contract with Texas Commercial Waste of Bryan, Texas, for roll-off and
recycling services in the following not-to-exceed contract amounts:

Services:  $12,480.  Source of Funds:  Solid Waste and Water Services

maintenance application for the City of Bryan and Brazos County
Emergency Communications District with Tiburon, Inc., in the amount of

e.   Consideration - Turkey Creek Inflow/Infiltration Repairs, Change

      Consider change order number three with Elliott Construction for
an additional amount of $30,430, for the Turkey Creek
Inflow/Infiltration Repairs contract, which will bring the new contract
price to an amount not to exceed $663,961.  Source of Funds:  2001 Sewer

f.    Resolution - Texas Department of Transportation's Proposed Changes
to Farm-to-Market Road 1179

      Adoption of a resolution of the City of Bryan, Texas, supporting
efforts by the Texas Department of Transportation to alleviate
undesirable traffic conditions in the vicinity of Farm-to-Market Road
1179, also known as Briarcrest Drive, between State Highway 6 and Kent
Street by, among other things, making turning lane improvements and
raising medians and urging the Texas Department of Transportation to
pursue additional measures such as developing alternative traffic
routes, widening the roadway and other appropriate measures necessary to
more substantially alleviate such undesirable traffic conditions.

 

g.   Resolution - Policies and Procedures of the Bryan-College Station
Public Library System

Texas, establishing and providing for the addition and revision of

Association, Inc., Neighborhood Improvement Grant Request

Adoption of a resolution of the City Council of the City of Bryan,
Texas, approving a neighborhood improvement grant application submitted
by the Organization of Tiffany Park Homeowners Association, Inc., to
continue the assistance with a neighborhood improvement project to
enhance the landscape beautification of the Tiffany Park area, increase
the integrity of the neighborhood and enhance the preservation of
property values.  Source of Funds:  Neighborhood Improvement Matching
Grant Fund within the Neighborhood/Youth Department Budget.

 

 18.   STATUTORY AGENDA

      This agenda consists of items previously approved by Council
action, such as adoption of items that are part of an approved budget or
capital improvement projects, first readings of ordinances, or action
which is required by law or delegated to the City Manager.  Items may be
removed from the statutory agenda at the request of two Councilmembers.

 

a.   Consideration - Purchase of a Fire Engine for the Fire Department

118-54, "Restrictions Near Hospitals and Public Buildings", authorizing
the City Manager, upon the recommendation of the City Engineer and
approval of the City Council, to temporarily reduce or limit the rate of
speed of vehicular traffic on any street or alley in the City in areas
designated as construction zones.
