Bryan meetings to be streamed, archived online
City council meetings to make May 27 Web debut
 
Hard to believe, but meeting times for the Bryan City Council aren't
necessarily convenient for everyone. Same goes for Planning & Zoning
Commission meetings. Sure, you could watch the rebroadcast on Suddenlink
Channel 16, but...what if you're not a cable subscriber?
 
Thanks to a new partnership with Granicus, Inc., the City of Bryan soon
will webcast its TV programming 24/7 via www.bryantx.gov
<http://www.bryantx.gov/>  .  It means you either can watch city council
and P&Z meetings live over the Internet, or wait until the next day and
view just the meeting portions you're interested in. It's that easy.
 
Granicus, Inc. also allows the city to offer other videos to the public,
such as the award-winning Bryan: An Inside Look series.
 
"People already do so many things through our Web site," Bryan City
Manager David Watkins said. "They pay traffic citations, look at our GIS
maps, check-out library books and even report potholes. Webcasting our
city business will be a tremendous convenience for the public."
 
Bryan will debut its webcasting capabilities on Tuesday, March 27, when
the Bryan City Council conducts its workshop (3 p.m.) and regular
meetings (6 p.m.). View the meetings live at www.bryantx.gov

day.
