The Good Life, Campout Style
April 14-15: Easiest campout ever, we promise

Family campout.

Do those words strike fear into your heart, or make you want to load
gear into the SUV and head for the woods?

Either way, the City of Bryan has created a fun and easy event that's
sure to entertain your entire family - and spare you the long drive to a
state park.

Bryan Parks & Recreation

its second annual Family Campout at beautiful Austin's Colony Park
<http://www.bryantx.gov/departments/index.html?name=pf_austins_colony>
April 14-15. Here's how it works:

Step 1
Reserve your campsite now.  Do that at the Bryan Aquatic Center
<http://www.bryantx.gov/departments/index.html?name=parks_pools>  , 3100
Oak Ridge Drive. Or just take your chance by showing up at the park on
April 14.  $5 per person.

Step 2
Set-up begins at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 14.  Don't have a tent?  No
problem!  Texas A&M University Outdoors will rent you one, big or small.
Prices range from $7.50 to $16, depending on size.

Step 3
Enjoy stories while lounging near the campfire, make s'mores, gaze at
constellations, enjoy hotdogs and chips - or enjoy your own food and
drinks.  Sorry, no alcohol or glass containers will be allowed.  Parks
staff will be checking your coolers!

Step 4
Get a good night's sleep under the stars. Then awaken to a donut and
juice breakfast. Campout ends by 9 a.m.

Step 5
Go home and shower.  Or choose to smell "rugged" all day long.  Your
choice.
