Reminder: Fireworks illegal within city limits
The Bryan Fire Department Fire Marshal's Office wants to remind all
citizens that possession, storage, attempt to sell or lighted display of
fireworks within 5,000 feet of the city limits is illegal.
This includes all items that can be purchased at fireworks stands. With
current drought conditions, it has become especially dangerous. Brazos
County is enforcing a burn ban as well as restrictions on fireworks that
go up in the air (skyrockets with sticks and missiles with fins).
Citations for violating this ordinance carry a $500 to $2,000 fine. The
Bryan Fire Department wants all the citizens of Bryan to have a safe and
happy July 4 and wants to remind everyone that there will be
professional fireworks displays at the conclusion of the Brazos Valley
Bombers game on Friday, July 3, and at the George Bush Library at 9:30
p.m. Saturday, July 4.
