Bryan Police Investigates Fatality Accident

 

UPDATE:

 

The Bryan Police Department's Traffic Safety Unit will be investigating
the accident that occurred at the 2200 block of North Earl Rudder
Freeway.  On Thursday, 03/05/2009 between the hours of 9:00am and
1:00pm, there will be temporary lane closures in the north and south
bound lanes of North Earl Rudder Freeway.  The closures will be south of
the Woodville Overpass on North Earl Rudder Freeway.  Officers will be
working in the immediate area and assisting the traffic direction.
Please obey all traffic signs and traffic directions.  Motorists should
expect delays in the area and use caution.  

 

 

On March 3, 2009, at 8:10 pm, the Bryan Police Department responded to a
major accident at the 2200 block of North Earl Rudder Freeway.  A Maroon
1998 Ford Expedition was traveling south on North Earl Rudder Freeway
when it lost control traveling southeast across both the north bound
lanes of North Earl Rudder Freeway.  The vehicle then started to roll
and came to rest in the median between the north bound lane of North
Earl Rudder Freeway and the East Frontage Rd.

 

The deceased was identified as Jo Workmon Ephraim, B/F, and 61 years of
age from Hearne, Texas.  Through the investigation it was determined
that the deceased was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the
accident.  An autopsy was ordered and the accident is still being
investigated by the Bryan Police Department's Traffic Safety Unit and
the Criminal Investigation Division.
